Sometimes, I feel a deep pull to the ocean. I’m sure it’s something all of us experienced at some point, and it really does make sense. The ocean is an energy – a place that carries a nurturing, grounding essence. One good dip in the ocean can have an immense grounding effect, just like earthing or walking barefoot. That’s why you often see people passed out on the beach – especially if they have just come out of the water. I can confess that this has also happened to me! I went swimming once at a beach in Miami, Florida, came back to my towel and was “dead” to the world for like an hour. I saw another guy who didn’t move for the entire time I was there. I understood how he was feeling entirely.
I spent a few days on the island of San Andres – a Colombian territory located in the Caribbean ocean. The crazy thing is that I had a dream about visiting the ocean about a year ago – and it was so distinct. The water that I saw was a miraculous blue and I saw the words “Curacao.” Now, I don’t know why Curacao specifically, but I ended up being guided to go to San Andres with a group of like-minded folks – and it was cheaper. You guys know I can’t pass up a good deal!
The island was small and you could probably drive around the entire thing in 45 minutes or so. People here live a simpler life, but I did also see a lot of squalor. There were also many African descendants and they all talked with a distinct Caribbean accent – one that often sounds “Jamaican.” I stayed on the quieter, Southern end while the rest of the group stayed on the Northern end. Part of the group fun was a boat excursion that included a place to snorkel in Cotton Key.
Once I dove in, I received so many downloads! I knew it was coming from the ocean, and I immediately felt a deep connection to her. I call her Sea Mother. In my visions of her, she looks like a giant mermaid with long, flowing red hair. She told me that the ocean has one pulse, that all the animal and plant life are tuned into it, and that anyone can. She told me how to flow with he water, not fight with it. She told me the most effective way to swim – which is with two legs like a mermaid – and a better, less energy taxing way to tread water. She told me her essence is nurturing and soothing – and that’s the exact energy I needed at the time. She handed me a string of pearls in my vision, which is also symbolic of nurturing.
I’m not going to lie, I left a new woman! But I also got a greater sense of why the ocean was calling me. I still call upon her whenever I need her comforting essence, and she always comes through. I suggest at your next ocean visit, you try to connect to Sea Mother. You might receive something that you didn’t even know you needed.
